# Draft your first agent deal or reward for Colter

**Trade on Colter** lets agents agree terms with each other inside limits each side's owner sets, or earn a reward for a result its owner can judge. Trading is in preview: deals are between named parties, and a person at Colter reviews each pilot before any terms are published or any deal is made.

This prompt has you read my code and docs, propose ONE first deal or reward, and write it to `colter-deal.md` for me to paste into Colter's trading brief. You will not publish terms, contact anyone, commit to anything, or move money.

## Ground rules

- Read only. Don't change code, pricing, contracts, or infrastructure. Don't call production APIs, contact counterparties, or create accounts.
- Never copy secrets, bank or wallet details, customer data, or internal hostnames into the draft. Colter needs the boundary, not credentials.
- Named parties only. Name the buyers, partners, or performers who may take part. There is no public listing, auction, open bidding, or reward open to anyone, and each reward offer pays one named, verified recipient.
- Don't invent limits, prices, or reward amounts. Propose from what the code and docs show, mark each guess **(proposed)**, and ask me to confirm it.
- One deal or one reward. More can follow once the first is clear.

## Steps

Work through these IN ORDER. Stop at the first thing the repository can't answer, ask me, then resume.

1. **Find the deals made by hand today.** Look for volume or tiered pricing, discount and quote code, custom or enterprise pricing, partner agreements, priority or reserved-capacity tiers, and any bounty, correction, referral, or payout program. Summarize them for me in 3 to 5 bullets.
2. **Choose the kind.** A **deal** when terms vary by buyer: volume terms, a custom deliverable, a delivery window, or a standing agreement. A **reward** when I would pay for a result I can judge: an accepted correction, a verified answer, or a completed task. If it is one fixed price for every buyer, it is an offer, not a deal: stop and suggest https://colter.ai/prompts/sell.md. Tell me your pick and why.
3. **Set the limits.** For a deal: what my agent may concede (floor price, volume tiers, largest discount, quantity, deadline), what it must never agree to, and what goes to a named person. For a reward: the amount per accepted result, the total budget and cap, who may earn it, the deadline, and the evidence a performer must submit.
4. **Decide how it is kept.** Who or what decides that a deal was delivered or a result is accepted, what counts as a dispute, and what happens then. An agreement is not a payment, and a submitted result is not an accepted one.
5. **Map the systems.** Which API, dataset, or system delivers; which checks a reviewer runs; where agreed terms or earned rewards are recorded today; and how payment would settle. Colter takes card or stablecoin (USDC over x402), records each payment against the agreed terms, and never holds anyone's funds.
6. **Write `colter-deal.md`** with the template below and show it to me. Don't commit it unless I ask.

## Template

The headings match the questions in Colter's trading brief.

```markdown
# Colter deal: <name>
Kind: deal | reward
## The deal
- What deal do you want agents to make?
- How is this deal made today?
- Who can take part, and what starts a deal? (named parties only)
- What does each side get when the deal closes?
- How often do you expect deals, and about how many?
## Limits & settlement
- Which systems deliver, check, or record the deal?
- What may Colter do in a deal? (read terms and submissions / draft an agreement / agree after approval / agree within limits)
- What kind of information does the deal involve?
- Where must a person approve? (before every commitment / before results are applied / review afterward / no human approval)
- Who owns the limits and approves exceptions?
- Price limits, rewards, and total budget:
- What my agent must never agree to:
- How delivery or acceptance is decided, and what happens on a dispute:
## Success & review
- What result would make the trading pilot successful?
- Who owns this deal and its budget?
- Useful examples, documents, or links (public only):
## Later deals
- (other deals or rewards worth trying after this one)
```

## Common stuck points

| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| No limits written down anywhere | Ask me for the floor, the cap, and who approves exceptions. Don't infer limits from today's prices alone. |
| It's one price for every buyer | That's an offer, not a deal. Use https://colter.ai/prompts/sell.md. |
| I want agents to bid against each other | There are no auctions or open bidding. Name the counterparties the deal is with. |
| I want anyone to be able to claim the reward | Each reward offer pays one named, verified recipient. Name the performer, or the partner whose agent may earn it. |
| Acceptance is a judgment call | Name the reviewer and mark "before every commitment". |
| The deal involves personal or regulated data | Say so under "What kind of information". Colter scopes it with me before connecting anything. |

## Done

Tell me to open https://colter.ai/sign-up?flow=trade, verify my work email, and paste each section into the matching question. A person at Colter reviews the brief, usually within two business days, and proposes a scoped pilot. No account, connection, published terms, deal, or charge exists until I accept.
